Suggestions on creating lightening effects

As the title states, anyone have any suggestions on how to create a simple effect of lightening using cocos2dxna?

You'd have to hack the CCDrawManager and define your own derivations on BasicEffect, and then apply them during the draw() call.

Sorry for my bad grammar, I meant "lightning" as in thunder and lightning.

You could also use the cocos2d version:

http://krazydad.com/bestiary/bestiary_lightning.html

and make a cocos2d-xna version for us.
